Medical waste

Waste materials produced by university hospitals or medical research institutes include medical waste generated from medical activities in addition to daily-life waste materials and laboratory waste materials. Medical waste materials may contain infectious wastes and must be disposed of with special care in accordance with laws and regulations. On the other hand, non-infectious wastes are managed in the same manner as wastes from other faculties/schools. For example, chemically hazardous laboratory wastes must be separated, collected, and disposed of by ESC.
