Environmental Science Center

We are doing research on both hard (e.g. facilities and devices) and soft (e.g. protocol, procedure and operation) measures as well as methods to guarantee environmental safety. On the theoretical side, we are analyzing the structure of environmental safety at the actual scene of research and education and extracting the factors that stabilize this structure. Concurrently, we are putting into action the results of this theoretical analysis of the structure of safety by applying it towards risk management of people actually doing research and education at UTokyo. Also, we are developing methods for environmental safety education and constructing comprehensive, effective and concrete education programs and tools with sufficient flexibility to adapt to each field of expertise.

Finally, we are establishing methods for evaluating the education results of the environmental safety education activities that are being conducted according to the developed methods, and based on those evaluations, we are developing tools and programs that have even higher educational effectiveness.
